Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test (APECET) to be Conducted in Two Sessions on May 6
The Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test (APECET) will be conducted in two sessions on May 6. Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur (JNTU-A) will be conducting the entrance test this year. The highest number of applications were received for admission into Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) stream followed by Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE).
Addressing the media in the JNTU-A here on Tuesday (April 29), JNTUA Vice-Chancellor H. Sudarsana Rao said the first session will be from 9 a.m. to 12 noon while the afternoon session would be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
A total of 35,187 applications were received and the examination will be conducted in 110 test centres. While 109 test centres are spread over 46 towns in the State, one centre is in Hyderabad in neighboring Telangana, Mr. Sudarsana Rao said.
Giving the stream-wise break up, the Vice Chancellor said 11,029 have applied for CSE, 9,416 for ECE, 4,757 for Mechanical Engineering, 3,050 for civil engineering while 327 have applied for pharmacy.
The candidates will be permitted into the examination halls from 7.30 a.m. for the forenoon session and from 12.30 pm for the afternoon session. Candidates will not be permitted into the examination hall even if they are late by 1 minute.
For the forenoon session, the candidates will not be permitted into the examination halls after 9.00 a.m. and for the afternoon session they will not be permitted into the examination halls after 2.00 p.m. Mr. Sudarsana Rao asked the candidates to reach the examination centre much earlier than the commencement of the examination.
The candidates can download the hall tickets from the website from May 1, he said and advised the candidates to check all the details printed in the hall tickets and verify their stream of exam, shift and the Centre allotted. Calculators, mathematical tables, mobile phones and any other electronic gadgets are not permitted into the examination hall.
The candidates shall carry their hall ticket, downloaded application form, blue or black ballpoint pen and their Identity card. The candidates will be provided rough sheets for calculations and other work in the examination hall.
