Rare Triple Planetary Alignment to Form Smiley Face in Sky: When and How to See It?
SHARE

A special treat is coming soon for astronomers and stargazers around the world! A rare triple planetary alignment is forming a giant smiley face in the sky. Here’s how and when you can see it:

When will it be seen?
On April 25, Venus and Saturn will align with the crescent moon, creating a glittering smiley face in the night sky. The “eyes” of the smiley will be formed by the two planets, while the crescent moon will make up the “mouth.” This alignment will be visible to anyone with good viewing conditions before sunrise on April 25.

What is a triple conjunction?
A triple conjunction occurs when three celestial objects appear very close to each other in the sky. The thin, crescent moon looks like a smile, and some people might see a smiley face in the triangle of bright objects.

How to view the ‘smiley’?
The planetary alignment will form early in the morning on April 25, around one hour before sunrise. Anyone can try to see the conjunction from a clear eastern horizon. A telescope or stargazing binoculars can provide a clearer and more detailed view.
