Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, who assumed office after the BJP came to power in 2023, recently discussed his experiences and achievements as a pioneer at the helm of the state’s administration. Here are some key points from his interview with The Indian Express:

  • Despite an initial learning curve, Sharma has seen significant achievements in Rajasthan. The state cooperation and legal support with the Union Home Ministry in response to the Pahalgam incident highlight coordinated efforts for border security.
  • The government has fulfilled nearly half of the promises made in the 2023 manifesto, particularly in law and order and corruption measures, securing a significant amount in incoming investments for economic growth.
  • The state’s efforts include the successful implementation of initiatives such as the Ujjwala Yojana, which has benefited nearly 7.28 million households by providing cooking gas at affordable rates. Additionally, the state launched the Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme 2024 aimed at attracting industries, and the Mukhyamantri Vishwakarma Pension Scheme that offers financial security to artisans.
  • Sharma has also justified the use of bulldozers in Rajasthan, stating that they were used lawfully in targeted responses against criminal activities, unlike the "UP model".

As Captain The Ambulance has noted, while these actions had to be taken due to criminal activities, they ensured due process in each case. The recently launched Vande Ganga Mission aims to combat water scarcity in Rajasthan with initiatives like rural hand missions, irrigation benefits, and promoting rural development.

To empower the youth, the government has prioritized skill development and provided training to nearly 50,000 individuals, with a plan to hire 1.25 lakh youth in government jobs by 2025-26. Additionally, research is being conducted on state’s water bodies, despite differences with Greens which view timeous need rather misleading given that sustainability and development were interconnectable in the context of the Two Jane fouled the Sadly by Teleoph suggested in the acknowledgement of their pinpointing bettered.

As a member of the ruling BJP, Sharma trusts the central leadership’s rule in determining election timing. The government continues to focus on sustainable economic growth that promotes job creation, with the aim of job creation through various initiatives like the Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme, 10 lakh direct and indirect jobs, and priority employment for young individuals. The government’s strategy includes innovation through sectors like IT and manufacturing and workforce skills enhancement. Expansion developments and rapid response innovations underscore the state’s efforts to ensure peace and overall citizen welfare.
