Indian Diplomats Targeted by Pakistani Media Amid Afghan Conflict

Pakistani media today named eight staffers of the Indian High Commission in Lahore, accusing them of carrying out "anti-Pakistan activities." This news comes amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following the Uri terror attack and subsequent surgical strikes by India.

Sources in the External Affairs Ministry suggest that India might withdraw eight of its diplomats in response to security concerns. Pakistani media identified them as being involved in "subversive activities" including attempts to disrupt the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and create fear and chaos.

The leak shows that these Indian officials may have built a network of informants within Pakistan and attempted to fabricate evidence to tarnish the country’s image. According to The Dawn, these officials could either be declared "persona non grata" by the Pakistani authorities or may be withdrawn by India.

Meanwhile, formal confirmation from the Foreign Office has not been released. The withdrawal of Pakistani officials has already arrived in Lahore.

Stay tuned for more updates.
