Pakistan Army Claims to Have Shot Down Indian Drone
The Pakistan Army has claimed to have shot down an Indian drone that it says intruded into Pakistani territory across the Line of Control (LoC).
Details:
- The drone was shot down by Pakistani troops at 1645 hours (local time).
- The drone fell in Pakistani territory and was taken over by Pakistani troops.
- The drone had intruded 60 meters into the Pakistani side of the LoC.
- Its debris fell near Agahi Post in Rakhchakri Sector.
Background:
Since the surgical strike on terrorist launch pads in PoK on September 29, 2016, following the Uri terror attack, there have been 286 incidents of firing and shelling along the LoC and International Border in Jammu and Kashmir by Pakistani troops, resulting in the death of 26 people, including 14 security personnel.
