BJP Training Camp Focuses on Public Communication
In a move to address a series of controversial remarks by senior BJP leaders in Madhya Pradesh, the ruling party is preparing to organize a training camp aimed at improving public communication. The training, which is expected to begin soon, will focus on ensuring that elected representatives are aligned with the party’s ideological direction and communication strategy, particularly when speaking in public and addressing sensitive topics.
The training program, which is being developed by the BJP’s central leadership, aims to provide essential subjects such as communication with the public, authorities, and the leadership hierarchy. Experts and responsible party leaders will lead these sessions, which will cover topics like public relations, proper utilization of MLA funds, leveraging social media, and managing development work effectively.
The BJP is also expected to issue guidelines on how to handle politically sensitive questions, especially those involving tribal communities, law enforcement, and social customs. This is necessary because some ministers "struggle to strike a balance between cultural sentiments and legal responsibilities."
The training sessions will focus on how to address controversial topics, what to say and avoid in the media, and how to keep the party’s image consistent. The workshop aims to ensure that ministers and MLAs do not make statements that contradict party positions or give ammunition to the Opposition. This training will also help leaders better communicate the BJP’s welfare schemes and governance achievements to the people.
The BJP’s central leadership has developed a structured syllabus for the training program, which includes chapters on intra-party communication protocols, public messaging guidelines, and emphasizing clarity. Designated spokespersons will handle broader or sensitive issues.
The training is expected to benefit younger MLAs, who are particularly at risk of creating their own communication methods, risking deviation from the party’s image, messaging, and discipline. Without guidance, they may make statements that contradict party positions or give ammunition to the Opposition.
The BJP’s central leadership has taken note of these incidents and is preparing to organize a training camp to address the issue. The training program aims to ensure that elected representatives are aligned with the party’s ideological direction and communication strategy, particularly when speaking in public and addressing sensitive topics.
