Thirunelli Police Arrest 39-Year-Old Man for Allegedly Stabbing Live-in Partner to Death
On May 26, Thirunelli police arrested a 39-year-old man, identified as Dileesh, for allegedly stabbing his live-in partner, Praveena, to death in Vakery near Mananthavady in Wayanad. The suspect was apprehended after a seven-hour search operation in the village and nearby forest areas. Praveena was identified as the deceased, aged 34.
The incident occurred on May 25, Sunday night. It came to light when Praveena’s 14-year-old daughter sustained injuries and was admitted to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. The younger daughter, aged nine, who was initially reported missing, was rescued from the suspect’s custody.
According to police sources, a quarrel over the woman’s previous marriage is believed to have led to the alleged murder. Praveena’s body was discovered in her rented house at Vakery. The police have recorded the statements of both children as part of the ongoing investigation.
