Andhra Pradesh Government Establishes Task Force for Economic Development

The Andhra Pradesh government has formed a task force to promote industrial growth and development in the state. In a G.O. dated Monday (June 9, 2025), Industries Secretary N. Yuvaraj stated that the government has constituted a Task Force on Economic Development for "Swarna Andhra Pradesh@ 2047."
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has been appointed as the Chairman of the task force, with Tata Sons Executive Chairman N. Chandrasekaran as the Co-Chairman. Other members include CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee, Apollo Hospitals Vice-Chairperson Preetha Reddy, Suchitra Ella, Prof. Raj Reddy, Satish Reddy, GMR Group Chairman G.M. Rao, Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand, L&T Chairman Subrahmanyan, and TVS Motor Company Chairman Venu Srinivasan.
The primary goal of the task force is to prepare a roadmap for the economic growth and development of Andhra Pradesh. It will convene with senior industry leaders, government officials, and sector experts, gather inputs, and formulate recommendations. The task force will specifically address economic growth opportunities, infrastructure gaps, capital requirements, and policy frameworks. It aims to evaluate the current state of policy and recommend reforms to achieve the transformation of Andhra Pradesh into a prosperous state by 2047.
Furthermore, the task force will project Andhra Pradesh’s GDP by 2030 and 2047 using econometric models. A comprehensive report will be prepared as soon as possible, facilitated by the CII. The Department of Industry and Commerce, and APEDB, serve as the nodal point of contact for managing the task force’s meetings and engagements.
