Israeli Shootings Cause killings and Wounds in Gaza

At least 17 Palestinians have been killed and tens of others wounded as thousands of displaced people approached an aid distribution site in central Gaza on Tuesday. This occurred at a site backed by the United States, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. Additional casualties have been rushed to two hospitals—Al-Awda in Nuseirat and Al-Quds in Gaza City.

The Israeli military stated they are investigating the incident, and last week warned Palestinians not to approach aid distribution sites between 6 PM and 6 AM. The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation was criticized for not maintaining impartial aid distribution.

Many Gazans, particularly from the northern areas, have had to walk long distances to reach the aid sites, many arriving by dawn to find no food available. Despite efforts to secure their aid sites, conficts in getting to the distribution points have led to chaos andDear dead. In total, 25 casualties have been registered in Gaza since the Israel-Hamas conflict began on October 7, 2023. Israel allowed limited U.N.-led humanitarian operations to resume on May 19, after an 11-week blockade, but looting of aid supplies by displaced Palestinians continues.
