New Delhi: Hero MotoCorp reported a 42.76% decline in scooter and motorcycle sales in April 2025 compared to April 2024. Motorcycle sales fell from 496,542 units in April 2024 to 286,089 units in April 2025, while scooter sales dropped from 37,043 units to 19,317 units.

Domestic sales decreased by 43.79% from 5,132,961 units in April 2024 to 2,88,524 units in April 2025, while exports fell by 16.79% from 20,289 units to 16,882 units.

Despite the sales drop, Hero MotoCorp recorded 5.05 lakh VAHAN registrations for its internal combustion engine (ICE) two-wheelers in April 2025, indicating strong customer demand and retail performance.

The company’s plants at Dharuhera, Gurugram, Haridwar, and Neemrana were closed from April 17 to 19 to align supply chains and conduct maintenance and infrastructure enhancements. Normalization is expected in May 2025.

Despite the decline in sales, the company has maintained a consistent month-on-month increase in its retail market share throughout 2025.

VIDA, Hero MotoCorp’s electric mobility brand, continued its strong growth momentum in April, with 7,116 units of the VIDA V2 electric scooter dispatched. VIDA also recorded 6,123 EV registrations on VAHAN, reflecting a significant year-on-year increase and reinforcing its growing presence in the electric two-wheeler segment.
