Chennai: Vellore Institute of Technology and Gleneagles Hospital Chennai Sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)

Dr. Nageshwar Rao, the CEO of Gleneagles Hospital Chennai, and Dr. T. Thyagarajan, the Pro Vice-Chancellor of Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT University), today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and neurosciences.

Partnership Areas:

  • Neuroinformatics
  • Brain imaging
  • Machine learning in healthcare
  • Wearable and IoT-enabled devices
  • Rehabilitation and gait-assistive technologies
  • AR/VR-based diagnostic tools

Objectives:

The collaboration aims to support clinical applications such as epilepsy care, neuro-oncology, neurorehabilitation, and cognitive health monitoring.

Benefits:

Gleneagles Hospital Chennai will provide its clinical insights, infrastructure, and mentorship to guide the development and validation of healthcare solutions.

VIT will contribute its technical expertise, faculty, and students to develop software, algorithms, and platforms, and support academic research and commercialization.

Dr. Nageshwar Rao, CEO of Gleneagles Hospital Chennai, said, "The partnership aims to create a strong, sustainable framework to co-develop solutions for the most complex neurological and chronic conditions affecting patients today."
