SINGAPORE, June 3, 2025– The KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) has launched a specialized clinic dedicated to assessing and treating plagiocephaly and brachycephaly, often referred to as flat head syndrome. The hospital claims this clinic is Singapore’s first dedicated Plagio Centre and the first public hospital in the region to offer 3D-printed helmets as part of their treatment options.

Dr. Kavitha V Sothirasan, Lead of the KKH PlagioCentre, Department of Neonatology at KKH, stated, “Flat head syndrome is relatively common but highly preventable and treatable. Increased awareness among parents and caregivers about the importance of early detection and timely intervention has led to a rise in the number of cases. The KKH PlagioCentre enables us to help infants during this critical stage of development and ensure every child has a strong start in life.”

This cutting-edge clinic not only offers innovative treatment options but also underscores the hospital’s commitment to enhancing the well-being of newborns and young children. With a focus on preventive care and patient education, the KKH PlagioCentre aims to provide comprehensive support to parents and caregivers.
