Indore: Hospitals Install Red Cross Signs Amid 12-Minute Blackout
In Indore, more than 250 hospitals followed instructions to install red cross signs on their roofs and ensure no light was visible from outside during a 12-minute blackout in the evening. Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr BS Setiya said, "There are 253 government and private hospitals in the district that operate in large structures."
"We approached all the hospital officials to follow the instructions of installing red cross signs that should be well visible," he said. During the blackout, the hospitals were also instructed to keep all lights off and cover windows with curtains.
"The hospitals were informed that medical services could continue inside, but no light should be visible from the outside," he added, noting that the hospitals followed the instructions as they were also asked to prepare their own plan for the emergency arrival of patients in case of ‘mass casualties.’
