AIIMS Bhubaneswar Seeks Additional Land for Expansion
Bhubaneswar: Authorities of AIIMS Bhubaneswar have requested the state government to provide at least 100 acres of land for the institute’s expansion. AIIMS Bhubaneswar President Shailesh Kumar and Executive Director Ashutosh Biswas met Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday to discuss patient care, medical education, and expansion.
Biswas emphasized the institute’s commitment to delivering quality healthcare services, fostering research, and nurturing medical professionals. They also requested the integration of the national institute under the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) area for better urban services and civic support.
AIIMS Bhubaneswar was established in 2012 along with other similar institutes in Patna, Jodhpur, Raipur, Rishikesh, and Bhopal. Initially envisioned as a 200-acre campus, the state government allotted around 92 acres, including 60 acres for the hospital and the remaining for residential facilities for students and staff.
