The world’s largest hip-hop festival, Rolling Loud, announced its first India installment set to take place in Mumbai. This two-day event will mark the debut of the globally renowned festival in India, offering a shared stage for both international and domestic artists, along with curated food and cultural experiences.
Founded in 2015 by Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif in Miami, Florida, Rolling Loud has grown to include events in multiple international cities, including Toronto, Lisbon, Rotterdam, Bangkok, and the United States. It has featured performances by top artists such as Travis Scott, Future, Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky, Nicki Minaj, and Playboi Carti. Last year, A$AP Rocky surprised fans at Rolling Loud Pattaya by bringing in rapper Hanumankind for a collaboration.
This collaboration, expected to bridge India’s hip-hop scene with the global stage, was confirmed by the CEO of District by Zomato, Rahul Ganjoo, and is sure to foster greater appreciation and support of the genre in India.
The full lineup and dates for the Rolling Loud India Music Festival are yet to be announced. However, the excitement surrounding this event underscores the rising prominence of hip-hop in Indian culture and the opportunity for global recognition for local talent.
