Kerala Rapper Arrested for Ganja Seizure
On Monday, April 28, 2025, Kerala rapper Vedan (Hirandas Murali) was arrested by police after nearly six grams of ganja were recovered from his apartment near Vyttila in Kochi. The drug was discovered by personnel from the Hill Palace police station following a tip-off.
It is reported that Vedan had arrived at the apartment with eight of his friends after a stage performance on Sunday night, April 17, 2025. Police are currently questioning the rapper and his friends at the time of this report.
Vedan will be booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act after the interrogation is completed. He may be released on station bail due to the minimal quantity of ganja in his possession. Police are expected to reveal further details soon.
Vedan, a native of Thrissur, gained popularity with his rap video "Voice of the Voiceless." He has also collaborated with music director Sushin Shyam in the promo song "Kuthanthram" for the movie "Manjummel Boys."
