Northeast Flood Crisis Worsens
The overall flood situation in Assam has deteriorated further, while the influx of rain in northeastern states regions has slightly improved. As of today, the death toll in floods and landslides across six northeastern states has reached 36. An increase of two more deaths from theAssam and Arunachal Pradesh has raised the death toll in 36.
Countingthe Casualties:
Barikin disaster management officials report 36 casualties, with 11 from Assam, 10 from Arunachal Pradesh, 6 from Meghalaya and Mizoram, 2 from Tripura and 1 from Nagaland. In Manipur, more than 19,810 face flooding due to overflowing rivers. More than 3,365 homes are damaged by torrential rains while 47 landslides and stray flooding filled government and private offices, and obstructed roads.
