Last week, Bollywood Hungama broke the biggest news of the year: Paresh Rawal has quit Hera Pheri 3. We also heard from the actor himself confirming his exit from the franchise. Since then, the controversy has grown because of Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films suing Paresh Rawal for Rs. 25 crores. Though the legal team of Akshay Kumar has explained their troubles, now we’ve learned that Paresh Rawal has returned the signing amount to the production house.
Bollywood Hungama found out that he returned Rs. 11 lakhs with 15% interest and a little more money for stepping out of the series. A source told us that Paresh Rawal was paid Rs. 11 lakhs as a signing amount as per the term sheet. His total fees were now locked at Rs. 15 crores. According to the term sheet, Paresh was supposed to receive the balance amount – Rs. 14.89 crores – only one month after the release of the film.
The senior actor had reservations as the film’s principal shoot was set for sometime next year. This meant that with Hera Pheri 3 being unlikely to be released before late 2026 or in 2027, Paresh would have had to wait nearly two years to receive the rest of his acting fees.
Trade sources mentioned that only the teaser of the film was shot on the sets of Bhooth Bangla. The crew of that film also accounted for some aspects of Hera Pheri 3. We now wait to see what happens next in this dramatic saga.
