Delhi Weather Update: Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Bring Relief from Heat
Residents of the national capital woke up to heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms on Friday morning, bringing much-needed relief from the sweltering heat. Parts of NCR, including Noida, also experienced fresh showers.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued red alerts for Delhi and yellow and orange alerts for Noida, Meerut, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad due to the heavy downpour.

Rain showers lashed parts of the national capital early this morning; waterlogging was witnessed in several areas.
Following the rain and thunderstorms, flight services were disrupted at the Delhi Airport. "Due to inclement weather conditions and thunderstorms in Delhi, some flights have been impacted at Delhi Airport. Our on-ground teams are diligently working with all stakeholders to ensure a seamless and efficient passenger experience. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information," Delhi Airport said.
IMD Prediction:
The weather office has predicted that rain and thunderstorms are likely to continue in parts of the national capital throughout the week. The IMD also said that the minimum temperature in the national capital will remain around 25 to 26 degrees Celsius.
