Kolkata Fire News: 14 People Lost Their Lives in Hotel Fire
A fire broke out in a hotel near Falpatti Machhua in central Kolkata on Tuesday, according to a senior police officer. The fire occurred at around 8:15 pm at the Rituraj Hotel. Fourteen bodies have been recovered, and rescue teams are still at work.
The fire is under control, and further investigation is underway. A special team has been formed for the investigation, but the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
Union Minister and West Bengal BJP President Sukanta Majumdar urged the state administration to rescue the affected immediately and called for stricter monitoring of fire safety measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
West Bengal Congress President Subhankar Sarkar also criticized the Kolkata Corporation, saying that there was no safety or security in the building and that the corporation was not doing enough.
The incident has raised concerns about fire safety measures in the city.
