When Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan welcomed their daughter Aaradhya in November 2011, they became the proud parents of a beloved couple admired by fans worldwide. Like many power couples, they chose delays with their child’s naming process. It was never a rush for the couple, which took nearlyfour months to find the perfect name. In an interview with Vogue India, Aishwarya explained their thought process.
“Aaradhya” means “worthy of worship.” It was a name both parents considered initially, and they even opened it up to their extended family. They kept her relatively private at first, allowing her to grow up without constant spotlight. Over time, fans are treated to glimpses of the little girl in public, making her a favorite among Cannes Film Festival attendees.
“Cannes is familiar to her and is about reuniting with friends,” explained Aishwarya in a chat with Film Companion. “She loves the place: it’s all about romance and the atmosphere-filled environment among the world’s biggest film stars.”
Aaradhya Aisha Bachchan accompanies her mother Aishwarya Rai Bachchan every year for the Cannes Red Carpet, becoming a tradition at the event.
