Aamir Khan Teases ‘Mahabharat’ Adaptation: "I’m Trying My Best"
Bollywood star Aamir Khan has shed light on his upcoming film adaptation of the epic saga ‘Mahabharat’. The actor, who previously spoke about exploring the narrative in a different way and on a grand scale, recently revealed more details about the project.
In an interview with ABP Live, Aamir shared, "Mahabharat is a dream of mine—one I hope to bring to life, but it’s a very difficult dream. Mahabharat will never let you down, but you might let Mahabharat down. That’s why I’m treading carefully. Once my current film is released, I can begin working on it. I’m trying my best—let’s see how things unfold. It’s such a massive project that I don’t want to say much right now."
Aamir also discussed the emotional connection he feels with certain characters from the epic. When asked which character he would love to play in the movie, he replied, "The character of Krishna inspires me—that’s the character I truly love."
Earlier, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Aamir had spoken about the casting of the film and hinted at involving two directors to lead the project due to its large scale. He also added that the film may require more than two parts, as it is a vast story.
On the work front, Aamir is now gearing up for the release of ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, a sequel to his 2007 film ‘Taare Zameen Par’. The film stars Darsheel Safary and Genelia Deshmukh in key roles and is scheduled for release on June 20.
