Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Chairs High-Level Meeting for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025
In a crucial move toward ensuring the 2025 Pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath Ji, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha convened a high-level meeting at Raj Bhawan in Srinagar on Friday. The two-week pilgrimage, set to commence from July 3 to August 9, will coincide with Raksha Bandhan.
The meeting focused on preparing for a safe, smooth, and spiritually uplifting pilgrimage, covering several key areas including:

Security Measures: 581 CAPF companies will be deployed to safeguard pilgrims, with top officials from the Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), and Jammu & Kashmir Police emphasizing the need for robust security.

Infrastructure Enhancements: The Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB) reviewed ongoing infrastructure projects, including safer and wider tracks for pilgrim routes, new alternate routes, and improved transport facilities like E-KYC registration, RFID cards for tracking, and digital pre-paid services.

Medical and Health Support: 77 healthcare facilities, 509 clinical beds, and 1,238 doctors and nurses are in place, along with 26 oxygen booths and 100-bed hospitals at key pilgrimage sites.

Transport Solutions: Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (JKRTC) will deploy 250 buses, with 77% of them running daily, and support from high-security convoys and backup buses.

Waste Management: A zero-landfill approach will be adopted, involving 7,000 sanitation workers and 600 trained staff, ensuring cleanliness during the pilgrimage.
- Insurance Coverage: Insurance coverage for pilgrims, providers, and ponies will be discussed to enhance safety.
Lieutenant Governor Sinha emphasized the role of the pilgrimage in fostering unity and spiritual heritage, and encouraged devotees to participate in large numbers. Over 3.31 lakh pilgrims have already registered, indicating a significant turnout for the 2025 Pilgrimage.
