James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has again made history by discovering the first and most ancient galaxy in the universe, MoM z14. This gives an insight into the formation of the early galaxies, as it existed just 280 million years after the Big Bang. Its redshift of z = 14.44 shows it was extremely young and rapidly forming its first generation of stars. This record-breaking discovery stems from the telescope’s outstanding ability to detect galaxies more than 3 times farther back in time than previous studies. This latest achievement alters our view of galaxy formation and expands what we know about the old universe. The universe is certainly evolving at a surprising pace, and JWST’s discoveries continue to刷新 our understanding of it.
