Karnataka Government Announces No Halt to Hemavathi Express Link Canal Work

Despite the protests from farmers and the BJP against the Hemavathi Express Link Canal Project, Karnataka officials announced that the project will continue despite its 40% completion rate. The project aims to divert water from the Hemavathi River to Ramanagara, and合う phải be interrupted. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who also serves as the Water Resources Minister, claimed that the dissenters do not concern the wellbeing of all citizens. Councilors Krishnappa and Suresh Gowda, however, have called for an all-party meeting. Suresh Gowda also comes under heavy security measures. Many farmers say they won’t allow their water source to be deviated despite the increasing security measures.
