Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy Promotes ‘Goshalas’ Across the State
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed the formation of committees to establish ‘goshalas’ across the state. These facilities must occupy at least 50 acres of land and ensure freedom of movement for the cattle to graze.
At a meeting in Hyderabad on May 31, 2025, Revanth Reddy outlined that in the initial stage, goshalas should be set up exclusively on public lands such as those of temples, veterinary and agricultural universities, and colleges. Identified sites should be tasked with preparation of comprehensive plans, including the necessary financial details for construction and maintenance.
Designs for the goshalas in Yenkapally, Moinabad Mandal in Ranga Reddy, were recently reviewed, and the government plans to finalize a model in the coming days. Special Chief Secretary Sabyasachi Ghosh, B Gopi, officials from the Chief Minister’s Office, Hyderabad Municipal Development Authority commissioner Sarfraz Ahmed, and Rangareddy collector Narayan Reddy were present at the meeting.
