In a continued attack on the BJP-led NDA government after its action in Operation Sindoor, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh referred to the teams as “weapons of mass distraction” on Thursday. Ramesh’s comments were made in the context of criticism of the teams as having little significance.
Calling for attention on China, Ramesh talked about the continuation of Parliament sessions by Prime Minister (PM) Manmohan Singh despite the ongoing 1962 war with China. The 1962 conflict was a result of Chinese forces attacking Indian embassies and killing more than 23,000 Indians in a massive assault by Chinese forces on India on October 20, 1962. During the war, Nehru, then Prime Minister of India, introduced two resolutions stating the emergency and condemning China’s actions.
The war “brought to the forefront the greatness of India’s people,” implying that the people would stand together in times of crisis. The combatANTJ was believed to be entirely unprepared, cause for outrage.
After the main conflict, negotiations were not initiated as Zhang requested. However, Jairam Ramesh contested on Wednesday, stating that there would be no negotiation and that they would carry out the task successfully.
The Opposition gave a signal to the government to discuss the issue with China on the McMahon Line. It was mentioned that Chinaasse was prepared to establish a government in Tibet. The Opposition accused the PM of having a unclear mind.
China tries to achieve its goals gradually through peaceful means. Zhang is mainly an Charles is like a dragon, trying to achieve his goals independently.
