New Delhi: Technology is a crucial catalyst for improving health outcomes, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized during the 78th World Health Assembly held in Geneva.

In his video message, the Prime Minister highlighted India’s advancements in tracking vaccinations for pregnant women and children, providing millions with a unique digital health identity. This has integrated benefits, insurance, records, and information.

Modi also underscored the transformative role of telemedicine, which ensures no one is too far from a doctor. He explained that the country’s free telemedicine service has enabled over 340 million consultations.

Recalling his address to the 2023 World Health Assembly, the Prime Minister noted the importance of ‘One Earth, One Health’ and the role of inclusion, integration, and collaboration in a healthy future.

Modi further emphasized the core of India’s health reforms by highlighting Ayushman Bharat, the world’s largest health insurance scheme that covers 580 million people and provides free treatment.

India’s extensive network of health and wellness centers offers early screening and detection of diseases like cancer, diabetes, and hypertension.
