CBSE Class XII Results: Thiruvananthapuram Region Falls Short of Top Spot

For the first time since 2014, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Thiruvananthapuram region has lost its top spot in the region-wise Class XII rankings. Vijayawada, which had been Thiruvananthapuram’s closest rival last year, secured the top spot with a pass percentage of 99.6%, surpassing Thiruvananthapuram by 0.28 percentage points.

The Thiruvananthapuram region, which had dominated both Class X and XII CBSE results for over a decade, fell short this year with a pass percentage of 99.32, comfortably ahead of Chennai (97.39%). The overall CBSE pass percentage was 88.39%, up by 0.41 percentage points from 2023.

In the Thiruvananthapuram region, 40,937 students (19,999 boys and 20,938 girls) passed out of 41,218 who appeared for the Class XII examination. Girls performed slightly better than boys, with a pass percentage of 99.56 compared to 99.06 for boys.

The region was represented by 673 schools (671 in Kerala and two in Lakshadweep) across 238 centers (236 in Kerala and two in Lakshadweep).

Class X Results: Thiruvananthapuram Region Ties with Vijayawada

In the Class X results, the Thiruvananthapuram region tied with Vijayawada, both registering a pass percentage of 99.79, a marginal increase from 99.75 last year. Within the region, Kerala recorded a pass percentage of 99.86, while Lakshadweep had a lower percentage of 90.69.

Bengaluru was in second place with 98.9%, and Chennai came in third with 98.71%. The CBSE overall pass percentage was 93.66, up by 0.06 percentage points from 2024.

A total of 63,838 students (31,983 boys and 31,855 girls) from the Thiruvananthapuram region sat for the examinations. Of these, 63,705 students (31,901 boys and 31,804 girls) passed. Girls performed better than boys, with a pass percentage of 99.84 compared to 99.74%.

Students from 1,346 schools (1,335 in Kerala and 11 in Lakshadweep) appeared for the examination from 273 centers (264 in Kerala and nine in Lakshadweep).
