Bollywood Actor Varun Dhawan to Play Colonel Hoshiar Singh Dahiya in Border 2
Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan will portray the role of Colonel Hoshiar Singh Dahiya in the upcoming film Border 2. Dahiya, a military officer who fought in the 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pakistani wars, was awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery during the 1971 conflict.
Who is Colonel Hoshiar Singh Dahiya?
Colonel Hoshiar Singh Dahiya was a military officer who fought in the 1971 Indo-Pakistani war with bravery and received India’s highest military honor, the Param Vir Chakra. Born in Haryana’s Sisana village, Dahiya studied at the Jat College in Rohtak for a year before joining the Indian Army. He was promoted to lieutenant on June 30, 1965, and fought in the 1965 Indo-Pakistan war in the Rajasthan sector. Dahiya was in command of the left forward company and captured an enemy locality of Jarpal after a fierce hand-to-hand fight.
Border 2
Varun Dhawan, who will play Colonel Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, has undergone training for the film. The movie also stars Diljit Dosanjh as Air Force Officer Nirmal Singh Sekhon and Ahan Shetty as a Naval Commander. Border 2 is currently under production, and its release date is yet to be confirmed.
