Indian Defence Forces Successfully Defend Against Pakistani Attacks
On Thursday, Indian defense forces thwarted missile and drone attacks launched by Pakistan targeting military installations in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur. The region experienced loud explosions and emergency blackouts, with sirens sounding in multiple areas, including Akhnoor, Samba, Baramulla, and Kupwara. Indian air defense units intercepted multiple drones and missiles during the assault.
Intense cross-border firing continues along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border, with confirmed ceasefire breaches involving artillery shelling and drone strikes in Samba. Several drone attacks have been reported in Udhampur, Akhnoor, Jammu, and Pathankot, prompting active responses from Indian air defense forces to counter the aerial threats.
According to defense sources, the Indian armed forces successfully intercepted a low-range missile fired from across the border. Additionally, a Pakistani drone was shot down near Jammu, preventing a potential major security breach.
Jammu Police Issues Advisory Amid Blackout
Citizens are urged to switch off all lights during the blackout, stay indoors and in safe locations, avoid unnecessary vehicle movement, and not panic as authorities are managing the situation. A complete blackout has been enforced in Vijaypur of Jammu Division, with sirens audible. Sources report that at least eight missiles were directed from Pakistan at Jammu Civil Airport, Samba, RS Pura, Arnia, and neighboring areas, with most intercepted or blocked by the Indian air defense system.
The situation remains volatile with increased military alertness on the border and in the skies.
