The Four Seasons: A Netflix Series Review
After watching Matthias Schweighöfer’s "Army of Thieves" and Wagner’s Ring cycle operas, "The Four Seasons" has sparked a newfound appreciation for Vivaldi’s violin concerti. Based on the 1981 movie, "The Four Seasons" stars Tina Fey, Will Forte, Marco Calvani, and Colman Domingo, among others. The series follows three couples who meet up for vacations in each season, exploring themes of love, loss, and friendship.
In spring, Nick and Anne’s lakeside cottage is the setting for their 25th wedding anniversary, only to discover that Nick wants to end their marriage. The couples navigate through awkwardness and awkwardness during autumn, when Anne and Ginny’s family weekend at Lila’s school leads to a turning point. Winter brings Nick’s New Year’s Eve celebration with Ginny’s friends, while Anne joins Terry for a date.
The series, with its eight half-hour episodes, offers a lighthearted look at relationships and the seasons. The jokes may not be laugh-out-loud funny, but the warmth and camaraderie among the characters make for a delightful viewing experience. "The Four Seasons" is currently streaming on Netflix.
