India Conducts Military Strikes Near Border with Pakistan, Several Airports Shut
Several airports in northern parts of the country were closed as India carried out military strikes near its border with Pakistan in the early hours of Wednesday (May 7, 2025). Srinagar airport was among those affected, according to airport officials. Other airports that were also shut included Leh, Jammu, Amritsar, Dharamshala, among others. Air India and IndiGo reported that their flights to and from Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot were cancelled until 12 p.m. on Wednesday. Airlines advised passengers to check their flight status and plan accordingly. Flight tracking websites showed no commercial flights in Indian skies north of New Delhi.
