Pakistan Army Chief Orders Effective Response to Indian Firing
In a handout photograph released on Monday, Pakistan army chief General Raheel Sharif and other military officials listened to a briefing on the situation at the Line of Control (LoC) in Jhelum, 120 km south of Islamabad. General Sharif ordered his troops to give an "effective response" to the LoC firing.
The army chief was in Jhelum near Rawalpindi to attend the funeral prayers of the seven Pakistani soldiers who died in the incident. He was given a briefing by senior commanders about the latest situation on the LoC.
General Raheel said, "Army will continue to respond effectively and will leave no stone unturned to defend the motherland."
Meanwhile, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif claimed that Pakistan responded effectively to the Indian fire and "it would have surely killed Indian troops." He also claimed that India was hiding its losses on the LoC.
