WAVES Summit 2025: A Grand Gathering of Bollywood Stars
The inaugural ceremony of WAVES Summit 2025 took place today, May 1, at the Jio World Convention Centre in BKC, Mumbai. This event was attended by some of the biggest names in Indian cinema, including Shah Rukh Khan, Narendra Modi, C P Radhakrishnan, and Devendra Fadnavis.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Welcome
Shah Rukh Khan began the ceremony by welcoming everyone to the inaugural edition of the WAVES Summit, India’s global platform for the future of audio-visual entertainment. He expressed his gratitude to the distinguished guests, including the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, and the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Remarks
Narendra Modi highlighted the global reach of Indian cinema, mentioning the popularity of Raj Kapoor and Satyajit Ray, as well as the success of "RRR" at the Oscars.
Celebrity Highlights
Nagarjuna also spoke at the event, expressing his pleasure to be there and celebrating the spirit of India. He mentioned the release of stamps to commemorate four legends of Indian cinema, including his father, Akkineni Nageswara Rao.
Security Issues
However, the event faced some security issues. More than 1000 delegates were made to wait outside in the heat for almost three hours by the security team. Despite assurances that they would be ushered in when the Prime Minister left, the gates did not open until 2:00 pm, causing a ruckus among the delegates.
Celebrity Access
It was shocking to learn that some prominent celebrities were not given access to the venue and had to wait on the streets.
